Welcome to St. Mary Immaculate RC Church, Warwick

Welcome to our Parish Website.  The Catholic Church of Saint Mary Immaculate is set in the middle of Warwick, England and is a long-established, thriving local church in the heart of Warwickshire.

Our aim is to be an active church, friendly and keen to add to the community that we support.  This website provides information on news and activities which we hope you find of interest.  It is in the development stages and we hope that it will transform over time to provide a useful and informative site.

If you're new to the area, feel free to come along and join us. If you're just in the town for a bit, we'd be delighted to see you. There is a coffee morning which is held in the Parish Hall after the celebration of the 10.30 am Mass each Sunday.  Why not join us for cup of tea and a chat!

Lent 2010: Walk With Me - A Lenten Journey of Prayer

Our annual pilgrimage together takes us through lent and you are invited once again to take a copy of the Walk With Me booklet from the back of the church.  Please take two copies one for yourself and one to share with another person.  In our busy lives, try to put aside a few moments each day to read the reflections and to follow the Lenten journey of prayer that unites us with our Lord.  These reflections aim to provide a Lenten pathway that leads us towards our celebration of Easter.  Lent is a time of personal conversion or a change of heart.  The  Walk with Me booklet this Lent takes up the Holy Father’s Message for lent, helping us to understand and commit to God’s justice.  Let us use this Lent well and experience God’s gift of loving justice in the Sacrament of Reconciliation and to celebrate its fruit in the Easter Eucharist.    More details ... Pope's message for Lent 2010.

March Thought of the Month - Rash Judgement and Forgiveness

“Be compassionate as your Father is compassionate.  Do not  judge, and you will not be judged yourselves; do not condemn, and you will not be condemned yourselves; grant pardon, and you will be pardoned.  Give, and there will be gifts for you: a full measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be poured into your lap; because the amount you measure out is the amount you will be given back.”      Luke 6:37-38

How does this inspire you to grow or to change?

30th May 2010 - 150th Anniversary Celebrations

This year, the church celebrates its 150th Anniversary with events taking place on Sunday, May 30th, beginning after the 10.30 am Mass.  Among the things planned: Hog-roast; strawberry teas; a pipe band; parish orchestra, Trinity orchestra; quizzes; beer tent; side shows and other things for children; general refreshments.

The celebration will take place over the day at various venues on the church site.  The current round of fund-raising events is to raise enough money to make the celebration day free.  We know it is half-term but that will enable more people from the past to come along, for it is sub-titled: "Homecoming".  Please enter the dates in your diary, contact past parishioners and pupils to let them know and keep a watchful eye on the newsletter  or the 150th Anniversary page for updates.
